Tuesday's Treasures - Historic Durham Athletic Park

Durham, NC

"Originally named El Toro Park when it was first built in 1926, the Historic Durham Athletic Park served as the home of the Durham Bulls for almost 70 years, and was a film location for the movie Bull Durham. In 1995, the team moved to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, a mile south, but this field is still maintained as the home of the NCCU baseball team and is available for rentals for special occasions." 1. I guess that I'm just a simply guy...this is the way baseball should be. No sky boxes, no fancy score board. Oh well, times change. Thanks Tanya for joining in this week and I hope that you will share more treasures again soon.

  2. It reminds me of my high school during my exchange year(1977). The field looked similar and we always had a great time there.

  8. Remember the movie staring Kevin Costner. The name comes, as you know, from the 19th Century tobacco product. Lovely looking stadium.

  9. You give us some of the neatest shots. You really do know how to find the right place to photograph. How are the slave quarters doing....are they moved, now?
