Since I haven't really shown you much of Duke University besides the Chapel...I'll show you a few shots now:
1)Different architectural styles
2) I loved everything that was built in stone though
3) The Azaleas were blooming everywhere
4) Beautiful trees...many were very old
5) Castle-like
A few tidbits: School got out on Tuesday. Braden and Dalton graduated 8th grade...hard to believe they will be in high school this year.
I just took Ozzy outside a little bit ago and saw lightning bugs...the first of the season!
That's my 5 peeps! Now it's your turn...post 5 randoms, link back and visit others! Thanks for playing along and have a great weekend!

I'm so glad you showed this! We had to go to N.C. several times for Phil's surgery, but were not able to sight see. It is lovely! Especially the path with the large old tree. That one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteReally amazing grounds, beautifully arranged and captured.

This is a grand place! Thanks for sharing these, wonderful photos. Every milestone in our children's lives, like your boys starting high school, seem to come around so fast. This is me looking back over the years :) and you saw lightning bugs? I will have to keep a look-out tonight. I remember the first time I saw them when I first moved to the states. We were driving at night, a long journey, and they kept us company for miles. It was like they were following us, all pretty magical to me and still are.
ReplyDeleteWonderful looking place that I never saw before. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDuke is lovely. Kids grow up quickly, don't they?! Lightening bugs -- I very rarely see them anymore. When I was growing up seemed like they were everywhere. Thanks for hosting. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteReally unusual style of brickwork on the uni buildings.. oh my gosh Tanya, highschool! The boys are growing up so fast. I remember when my two started high school and now they're all grown up :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of Duke for years but have never been there or seen the campus so I really appreciate these photos. It is a gorgeous place, and I, too, favor the stone and the old buildings!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful campus. One of our campuses here has a select number of older buildings mixed in with new architecture, while the other large campus dates back to more recent decades.
ReplyDeletewonderful architecture!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of that new-gothic style, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful architecture at Duke U!
ReplyDeleteI really like these old brick buildings! Great photos, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend!
I am a lover of stone and you have some great ones here. The different color of stone like the orange and grey, so pleasing to look at. Thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I especially love the old buildings. Everything is so ugly and modern where I live.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous campus and I agree the buildings built with stone are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOh that castle! I normally love cabin/lodge style but I could thoroughly enjoy a home like this castle. It's lovely. All of the architecture is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new graduates! High school flies by. It seems like it's the first day of freshman year one day and a few months later they're graduating. I think college flew by just as fast.
Wow! What amazing buildings!
