Brunswick Forge Road, Troutville
While driving over to pick Christian up from his friend's house the other day, I noticed this barn. It is much older than the house is sits behind. I always thought that would be cool to buy a piece of property and inherit neat old out buildings with it.
Over by the middle school sits a new-ish house with an old log cabin in the yard. I'd love to know more about that! If any locals drop by, it sits on Read Mountain, past RMMS towards 220.
Can you see that there's a little bit of snow left on the mountains? We were out of school Friday because of some wintry mix that morning. Calling for more Tuesday morning. We'll see what happens.
Another lovely one, especially with the beautiful background hills!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty with the light and the little bit of snow on the mountains.
ReplyDeleteIt would be really neat to be able to tour these old places! Looks like a beautiful old place =)
ReplyDeleteI agree - it would be cool to have a property with all those outbuildings! So, being 100% Californian, I've never found out what happens when you all get snow days. Do the kids have to go to school later into the summer?
ReplyDeleteNice barn and such a gorgeous setting!
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDeleteTanya, that is a beautiful shot.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot and view! Makes me want to take a long walk over the hills.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's so beautiful! Though I'm getting somewhat tired of winter, sigh. Hurry up spring!
ReplyDeleteI think I can detect a bit of snow! I'm so over winter at this point. Spring can't come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on that road that I can remember. There is a nice red barn on a road the comes off of Rt 11 where you cross under the train tracks, that road goes back into troutville somehow. Wish gas didn't cost so much, I would ride over there.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Tanya!
ReplyDeletewhat a view, those mountains, WoW and the barn ain't bad either!! great find!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a different world that looks to be. Thank you for this journey. Please have you all a good Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI can't recall the place you're speaking off on Read Mountain Road. I will have to pay attention the next time I am by there. Is it the place just off US 11? Or further down toward the school?
ReplyDeleteWhat a nicely kept property! I love the dusting of snow on the mountain! :)
ReplyDeleteA lovely setting! : )
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! Now that's pretty awesome! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful rural scene. Such a nice barn nestled there with the mountains in the background. No school today and NO snow or ice. One day of Easter break is now gone. genie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the peacefulness of this picture!
ReplyDeleteI like this scene - colors and composition - great shot!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful old barn, Tanya.

Beautiful barn and scene! I could live there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pristine rural scene--property looks so well cared for. And, let's hope people continue to preserve the old building and structures to connect us with the past.
