As I sit here on Tuesday afternoon getting this post ready for tomorrow, I am freezing. Today started out with a freezing rain, delayed school for 2 hours and hasn't stopped all day. The temp is only in the 30's and it is wet and miserable. My feet are frozen. I want summer. I'm done with winter and I'm going to be a big baby about all this cold! I had to run out to the store and took my camera with me but I'm so tired of winter scenes that I decided to just go back and dig through my summer archives to warm up a little. This photo is from summer, first part of August. Football had just started. Those 2 battling it out are my boys, Braden and Dalton, doing some sort of drill. Would you look at those mountains in the backdrop? There's several trails back there that some of the moms and I walk on during practice. I've shown you parts of Greenfield HERE on numerous occasions since it happens to be one of my favorite places to walk. Next warm day I'm heading over there!

Oh, that green grass! Love seeing the boys in their football uniforms - so cute. Those hills do look inviting....
ReplyDeleteSpring and Summer will soon be with us!
ReplyDeleteOh Tanya hope your feeling better. It is pouring rain here but is going to change to freezing rain any time now figures the chores should be fun this morning. I would rather see it snow. That is a nice summer scene:) B
ReplyDeleteI don't like the frozen stuff, but glad for the rain right now. You live in such a beautiful place- I wish I had mountain trails to walk every day.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the summer thing, Tanya! No freezing rain here but possibility of snow flurries this Saturday! Good grief! It will be March!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. This winter has felt soooooo long. Cold rain yesterday and today turning to snow tonight. Ugh. Waiting for some signs of spring for goodness sakes. Lovely picture that gets me in the mood for football! My boy plays high school football and I photograph the team action for the school.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess we're both feeling a need for summer today! I imagine we'll feel less enthusiastic when the temperatures and humidity reach their summertime highs in our separate parts of the country!
ReplyDeleteYep, February weather here pretty much sucks -- waiting for warmth! :)
ReplyDeletethat's a nice look back. or wish forward. :)
ReplyDeleteWith the way it looks outside right now, I'm all for taking a look back at the summer! :)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! I am completely out of step here. I am missing the snow :(. But I do feel just the same kinda, Tanya, cause it has been days since I have seen blue sky. Everything just looks blah. Interesting that you have freezing rain that brings everything to a stop. Hope it warms up for you :).
ReplyDeleteA fine action shot to take us back to summer. I'm with you - winter is over as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteGreat action shot of summer ~ Same weather in MA ~ even colder ~ stay cozy, warm and safe ~ 'this too shall pass.' ^_^
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Rurality Blog Hop. I"m with you! I am so ready to re-visit summer myself! Brrrrrrr! By the way, love that photo in your header :)
ReplyDeleteI hear you - winter is starting to lose its welcome.
ReplyDeleteYes to all the above, I'm so done with winter. It's rarely any fun by late Feb! I hope you guys see a glimmer of spring soon! It seems to (happily) arrive a little earlier there than up here:)
ReplyDeleteOh my, this looks so nice right about now! Winter just keeps hanging on. So ready for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteI hope your feet have thawed out. Cold feet is one of those things I just HATE!!
ReplyDeleteLove the look back to green grass and warmer temp! :)
Great action shot.
ReplyDeleteI understand what it feels like when winter has dragged on for too long. An archive raid is the right answer.
ReplyDeleteThe core of your writing whilst sounding reasonable
ReplyDeleteoriginally, did not sit very
well with me after some time. Someplace throughout the sentences you managed to make me a believer unfortunately only for a short
while. I however have a problem with your leaps in assumptions and you would
do nicely to fill in those breaks. When you actually can accomplish that,
I will undoubtedly be amazed.
