This is the house the artist in yesterday's post was painting. Circa 1873, known as Academy Hill or Bolton's Hill. I found this old newstory from back in 2009 showing the rennovation... CLICK HERE for the story and pictures
This barn sits right down the road from Academy Hill. Notice the clothes on the line? That's what drew my attention!

love that colorful second shot!!! beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice shots Tanya. I remember having to hang clothes on the line when I was a kid, most notably my youngest sister's cloth diapers!
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the barn. Love seeing that clothes line with clothes on it. Brings back lots of memories. Visiting from the Barn Collective.
ReplyDeleteGoodness! You have less leaves than us.
ReplyDeletei know, it was so windy over the weekend, the leaves didn't stand a chance :(
DeleteLove the house! I guess the wash on the line means someone is still living in it. Nice barn too.
ReplyDeleteYou have a really good eye! Perhaps I will visit it sometime.
ReplyDeleteSomething about barns with rusting metal roofs that draw me in. Nice
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous old house!! I wonder what the inside looks like...
ReplyDeleteI will have to check you link!
That's a great old house! I am attracted by laundry, too, and often try to get a shot of it. Love that photo of the barn!
ReplyDeleteit's too bad i'm not attracted to my own laundry ha ;)
DeleteI think that I have seen that house, it may be near the library? Neat place.
ReplyDeleteyes! sits right up on the hill overlooking the library!
DeleteColorful laundry is such a neat sight on a washing line, especially when found in the countryside. I like the old house with that red turret. Bet the inside looks really lovely too.
ReplyDeleteI love that old house and I still hang clothes out on the line :)
ReplyDeleteThe style of the house appeals to me!
ReplyDeleteYou don't see clothes lines very often these days. Love that rusty roof!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking home.
ReplyDeleteReally like the barn and rusty roof!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Rubbish Tuesday,
Lindy
I love the old barn with the rusty roof! Once in awhile I will hang some clothes on the line, but not often.
ReplyDeleteTwo nice photos from rural Virginia.
ReplyDeleteThe rust on the roof is great on that old barn. I had to look to see the clothes on the line. Nice touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat find!
ReplyDeleteYou asked about where that building was from Monday's post. I don't know the street offhand, but I took the shot of it from the observation deck above Center in the Square.
I like the house and the artist's rendition of it!
ReplyDeleteClothes on the line is something you don't see often. I line dry sheets in good weather, but that's it for me. Thanks for linking up this week!
