It may have fallen off of the truck during a move. Someone may have been very surprised to arrive at their new home without someplace to lay their weary head.
People get new ones, and drive around looking where to dump the old ones. Around here, there are lots in backyards and the side of the road. Makes you wonder if they ever heard of the local dump!
