Stratford Place

Mountain Pass Road . Blue Ridge

This isn't too far from my house and as I drive by I am confused by this subdivision Stratford Place. Unlike other subdivisions where you know you are entering and leaving, this one has a sign that just pops up along the road with a scattering of houses that might be in the subdivision or might not haha

  3. I'm not sure what a subdivision is Tanya, is it what we would call a new suburb?

    1. In California we called it tract housing and when we moved to Missouri they called them subdivisions, same in Georgia and here...we didn't know what people were talking about at first haha... typically a developer purchases a tract of land and then builds "cookie cutter" houses...we lived in one in Georgia named "Morgan's Landing" and we lived in one here a while back named "Dal Nita Hills"...usually there is a sign like in the picture with the sub division's name out front and a road leading into it...that's why I find this one odd as it is just along the public road...not separate!

  5. Hi there Tanya, so glad you stopped in again and thanks for all your kind comments! I love to go the small towns (and cities) and get out and go wandering around their historic districts too, my favorite way to spend a day!

  6. A subdivision that never really came to fruition?
