Great Valley Overlook . Blue Ridge Parkway . MP 99.6
As you travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway there are these overlooks every couple of miles or so...the views are always worth pulling over!
The Great Valley
"The Great Valley extends through the Appalachians from New York to Alabama. Here the valley is confined by the Alleghenies on the west and by the Blue Ridge on the east. The great warrior path of the Iroquois and Cherokee was used by the Scotch-Irish and German pioneers from Pennsylvania when they migrated down the valley to settle this area in 1730-50."
HERE'S a neat site I found to get a virtual view!

Today I am thankful for more and more spring like days! We've been enjoying warm weather and everyday I notice more and more things blooming! The forsythia and daffodils are in bloom and I even saw some Cherry blossoms today! We dip back into winter for the next couple of days but that's ok...spring is right around the corner!

ReplyDeleteMe too Michelle!

ReplyDeleteSweet memories for me as my husband and I drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway many years ago when we were first married. It was such a beautiful drive! We took a side teip to Luray Caverns.
