Meet Mr. Messimer
On Sunday while at the Virginia Museum of Transportation we met Mr. Harry Messimer. Mr. Messimer volunteers at the museum since retiring from driving a bus less than a year ago. He drove a Greyhound for over 30 years and has a huge collection of Greyhound memorabilia which is stored right there in the museum. He's also very happy to show you around and tell you about his Greyhound days. What an interesting and kind man Mr. Messimer is. Glad we visited the museum on his day to volunteer!

That collection would be neat to see, I used to love riding Greyhound when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteA kind fellow and nice shot of him in the museum. I'd like to visit it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fascinating tale or three he must have to tell. i had a wonderful 2 months on Greyhound buses many moons ago. And just finished reading Irma Kurtz' "The Great American Bus Ride" (1993) which I recommend!

I think it's great when retired people do stuff like this. Must be a neat guy.
