Spring House

Blue Ridge Resort was known for its "healing springs" and was built around the time of the Civil War. Destroyed by fire, all that remains is this little spring house.

  2. That's a lovely shot. You are quite the sleuth, finding these things around the county.

  4. This skeleton of the spring house is a grim, but useful reminder of what used to be. Good shot.

  6. according to the story i read texwis, someone had the water tested and said "the people who drank the water would be very happy, but would probably be dead in about 10 years because the water had 100 times the dose of lithium recommended".

There is a metal lid over the spring inside the spring house but it can be easily moved, as we moved it to take a peek inside!

  8. I'll bet that was something way back when. I'm surprised that there is anything left after all this time.

Re your comment on the parade: I was using the word, "parade," in its most generic sense...there is a constant parade of golf carts around the town squares (Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing) every single day. Some days there are more golf carts that other days and this was one of the latter. We just stood on the corner and watched them come - one after another! Amazing!
