Rural Thursday Blog Hop # 17

This is the Buchanan Theater in Buchanan, Va. This cute little old theater was built in the early 1900's. I took the boys there to see Puss in Boots not too long back. Tickets were only $5 for adults and popcorn, candy and cokes were only a dollar. I noticed on their website though that they had a slight price increase starting June 1 by just a dollar so it's still a real deal for a night out! The movie Red Tails is going to be playing there in a couple of weeks so I think I'll take the boys to see that one. It was something they had been wanting to see but we just never got around to it.

Linking up with Rural Thursday :)

  1. Love the old theaters. We have one here, but it doesn't look nearly as appealing as this one. Old drive-in theaters are neat to see, too, if you can find one.

  3. There sure aren't many old theaters left. The one in my old home town was turned into a store and then it was torn down. They had so much character compared to the theaters of today.

  12. Love these old theaters. I find it very sad the wonderful one in town is sitting unused most of the time. They rent it out a few times a year for special events but most of the town never gets to go inside.

Thanks for the visit to my Amish country post this week. I appreciate your continued support.

  16. Even with the price hike, a family can still afford to go to this movie theater. Wish there were more like it! A real find.
