Always wonder about these stately old homes that have seen better days. This one was a beauty in its heyday, I'm sure. Still seems like a lot of "living" is going on here--maybe not as elegant as in the past?
Oh how rustic that looks. Plenty of wood out front so they are all set for winter I expect. I am starting to notice the barns we have around here. Now all I have to do is remember to photograph one of them for a Tuesday :).
Love your photos, especially the one of Mabry Mill. I have photos from there, too. I think you and I are neighbors, I'm over here in Lowgap, NC next to Mount Airy. :)
I really like the weathered wood of the barn; but, yes, the house is wonderful. Love that dormer window! I wonder what the view is from there and can't you just imagine kids playing under that tree in summer...sigh. :)
so much character in this house, great photo
ReplyDeleteNice looking little barn, but the house does kinda steal the show! Classic farm house!
ReplyDeleteMany wood in front of the House tells a story of that, it must be very cold in this area in the winter.
