December Theme Day - My Street
Oh my gosh, the months are just flying by. Another City Daily Photo theme day is here already! This month's theme that won the vote is "My Street". I took this photo yesterday afternoon from my front yard, looking up towards the road. You can see the little speed limit sign of 25 mph if you look hard enough.
Busy day ahead. Have to haul up the Christmas decorations. Nick and the boys will hang lights outside while I work on decking the halls on the inside.
The Fincastle Christmas parade is this afternoon. We've gone every year since we moved here in 2008. The first year it was actually snowing. That was our first time to go to a parade in the snow...nothing stuck but it was kind of neat, and very cold! Today will be a pretty day for a parade, sunny and 60 degrees! We have to stop and pick up some dog food as they will be gathering it during the parade to give to the shelters.
I had originally wanted to post a street sign from Franklin County. The name of the street is Tanyard. My brother lived off of that road and I thought it was kind of funny, to be named after me. My name after all is Tanya so of course that is Tanya Road :) but I slacked and didn't get out that way and the notion to do it had hit me too late but I should get a picture of it anyway to hang in my house, ya think? :D

Enjoy the parade and this great image.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I love seeing the dawn, I dislike getting up and staying up. Lovely quiet photo. I ,too, think you will enjoy the parade...it's a nice tradition.
ReplyDeleteI told Patty that my life revolves around putting my PJs on and taking my PJs off. The in-between in my life. Some times are a lot more interesting than other times. I have just about shot my wad in photography. I have three external hard drives full and two cameras with empty flash cards. Sometimes I see something out the window and take 30 or more photos. Then I look at them in the computer and delete them all. Those days end up being a waste of time and shutter snaps. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like your photo Tanya and enjoy the parade. Sweet idea about dog food for shelters. Thanks for stopping by my Arlington Cemetery post. I had not heard of that incident you mentioned and looked it up. She caused a firestorm and has since lost her job the last time I heard. You are right, it was a disgusting thing to do.
ReplyDeletegreat pic, enjoy the parade!
ReplyDeleteCool shot of your street! Enjoy the parade - it sounds like a lot of good cheer!

ReplyDeleteVery nice, Tanya. You have got such a clear, sharp photo...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMust be quite a different scene when all the leaves are on the trees.
ReplyDeleteAesthetically this is much better than a street sign, but it would have been funny to see YOUR street!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, tanks for write up. looks like very quiet place and nice place to live.
ReplyDeletewonderful post and now I want to see photos of the parade. Great idea about the dog food, and an even better idea about the sign to hang in your home.
ReplyDeleteI have put out some Christmas decorations but the tree isn't allowed up until the 12th, after my sons birthday. Today is a little cooler here so will start to untangle some lights for the front of the house and find the blow up Santa.
