Traveling down Campbell Avenue, heading downtown. See that Coke sign to the left? That's a little restaurant named Aesy's. I wonder if it's good? Usually those kinds of places are. You can visit their Facebook page HERE.
Randoms:
1) Stayed up past midnight last night reading....I'm paying for it now....yawn...
2) Snow has been in our forecast for the weekend all week. All week I've been monitoring it. They've moved it around anywhere from Friday to Sunday. I was really hoping it would be Sunday night. Of course I have the boys birthday party planned for Saturday and now that's the biggest chance of snow. NOOOO.
3) I found a "taco shop" online that recently opened in West Virginia. They claim to have San Diego style taco shop food. They are also San Diego transplants who really miss our great Mexican food. Yes, we are going to try it out...SOON...sure it's almost 200 miles away...if it's the real deal, it's so worth it!
4) Olympics anyone? My husband will have it on but I really don't watch it. I like some of the events like downhill skiing which seems really scary to me. I like the events that are fast and risky. I don't like to be fast and risky but I like to watch it :)
5) I'm on day 35 of my new workout P90X3...I'm liking it. It's challenging for sure. But man, my nutrition has been awful. I've been such a piggie. I really need to do better with that.

Have a Happy Friday!
sounds great that you are on a good exercise program. That is something that I need to do so badly, and it just seems like every single day I put it off for one more day. UGH. Am thinking of joining a gym though, in fact it is on my to do list for this weekend. Nice shots and let us know when you try out that taco shop. i live in Texas, so there are plenty of those around here.... and , they are good!
ReplyDeleteHey...I could go for a coke right now...we'll meet at Aesy's?!!
ReplyDeleteAs for San Diego tacos...yuck. Well at least the fish tacos. LOL
Fish in a taco is just not Mexican food. But, tell us what it's like if you try it out.
fish tacos are good but we make our own and i don't miss them...what we do miss is carne asada burritos and rolled tacos...a southern california food staple! this place doesn't have rolled tacos sadly, but they do have carne asada burritos that they say are just like san diego...i'm a bit skeptical but willing to try!
DeleteLOVE your photos Tanya. Snow oh yeah enough said:) Tacos sound good. Your workout sounds like fun but I afraid it would kill me:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend. Hug B
I used to work on the corner of 3rd and Campbell, until they tore down that building. Then my office was across the street in the municipal building. Some of my coworkers had eaten at Aesy's. Sounds like it is just an average sort of place.
ReplyDeletei wish you well on your new nutrition feat. good luck!! keep us posted. i miss my mom cooking for me ... is that bad to say? she was & still is good at keep us all on a healthy kick, you know the if you have a green veggie, you need a meat & so forth ... i run out of ideas ... some times the hubby doesn't like my food. so i need some inspiration ... i keep trying but i wonder if i am on the right track? i can not imagine having kids to keep them healthy too. that makes me nervous. ( :
ReplyDeleteI love tacos! We have a little Mexican restaurant in our small town that has the best food, except they can't make a taco salad worth diddly! I find that strange. I hope the snow doesn't ruin your birthday plans!
ReplyDeleteIf you are doing P90 anything, you can be a piggie all you want. :)
ReplyDelete200 miles for a taco! That's dedication.
and it's kind of funny that i talked about being a piggie and need to get my nutrition in order and here we're willing to drive all that way for food haha...that could be my problem :D
DeleteGo in, look around and take some photos for us to see! I LOVE the winter olympics and will be watching it, despite all the bad press that it has received.
ReplyDeleteIs the old Jefferson High School just behind you and on the right?
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
yes, i'm pretty sure i passed that! i'll have to check in on the history now that you mentioned it!
DeleteI used to live in New Mexico and I have dreams about the great food there. Good look with the tacos! And, good luck with the workout -- you go! Hope the snow stays away for your son's birthday. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI have always enjoyed the ice skating in the past winter olympics...
ReplyDeleteI used to work on Campbell Avenue, too, for about 4 1/2 months. It was nice except for the drive from Altavista. Driving 200 miles for some tacos--well, it's closer than San Diego! Good for you with the workout. I need to find something to get myself in gear. Sigh. Happy Friday, and I hope we all get some snow!
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice shot of small-town America. Makes me nostalgic. So few of these left that are viable and that, I think, is our loss as a country.
ReplyDeletenice street view. hope the tacos are worth the road trip!
ReplyDeleteI do like the Olympic games! I've always loved figure skating since I was a little girl and I'm looking forward to the ice dancing! All the skiing events are fun to watch as well. Good luck with your new workout - I've heard it's brutal!
ReplyDeleteWow - that's a long drive for tacos - I hope they're great - it could be a fun road trip! What were you reading that kept you up late? I love reading something I can't put down. I hope the snow holds off for the birthday party! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the snow holds off on Saturday night and the birthday party goes off without any hitches. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI have seen that P stuff commercials and that's about all I could take of it...just watching made me tired!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you I like to watch the fast and risky, but I would never do it myself.
ReplyDeleteRight next to that restaurant is where the Haitian place used to be, they had some really good food there, I did a painting of port au prince for them and they gave me a free lunch. I really liked the goat that she fixed, best goat on earth is on a plate.
ReplyDeleteDowntown is a place I like!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the snow holds out until after your party! Nope, I don't watch the Olympics except I may take in a curling match.
ReplyDeleteOlympics for me? Bit of white noise in the background, sad to say.
ReplyDeleteBoo to that weather forecast! Hope you all stay safe. I like the sound of the WV place, I'd go 200 mi for good food:))
ReplyDeleteLike you say, little diners like that are usually good. Terrific shot, Tanya.
ReplyDeleteI watch some of the sports that'll appeal to me. Hockey for starters, some of the luge and bobsled, and I like the long and short track speed skating particularly.
I would love to walk along this street. Stay warm if it snows.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty street view. If you're doing P90X you probably can run 200 miles for the tacos. Hubby and I do it most days. I can make it through a few of the hour routines, but not all. Hope you get snow when you want it. Stay warn!
ReplyDeleteYour photo looks like you took it in 1950.
ReplyDeletei LOVE that about here!
DeleteI've been watching a lot of Olympics, although I guess every country focuses on the events they are the strongest in. That means I've been looking at a lot of skiing events and not much figure skating!
