Some of my favorite trains are these old rusty ones that are just waiting to be used for scrap and parts. The decay reminds me of my pal JM's series @ Lisbon Daily Photo.
Now some randoms:
1) Remember last week when I told you I was stressed? Well it was because I had a couple of skin conditions that were really scaring me. I had a sore on the side of my nose that just wouldn't heal. I had had it for a year and was by now too terrified to go see a dr. (I know, not good, go to the dr.) Then I had these pinkish things coming up on the backs of my hands and then a bump formed on the top of my head. I am fair skinned and spent too much of my youth laying out in the sun in Southern California. Then as I got older, tanning beds. I've gotten better at applying sunscreen by now but alot of damage has already been done. Anyways this has been consuming me, fearing the worst, for a year now. I finally told my husband last Sunday how freaked out I was getting. Monday he made me an appointment with a dermatologist for last Friday. I was scared to go. He went with me. As soon as my dr walked in, Dr. Jason, he asked me what was bothering me and I broke down and cried and pointed to all the things that were scaring me. He just calmly told me that it was ok, none of them are serious and I would be just fine. I had 2 very common forms of skin cancer that he was able to just freeze right off, right then and there. What a RELIEF. I can't tell you what a weight that was taken off my shoulders and like I have a new lease on life. He was the NICEST dr I've ever been to and if you are in the Roanoke area, need a dermatologist, I highly recommend Dr. Jason @ Virginia Skin & Vein.
2) I've been listening to Johnny Cash Radio in the mornings after everyone clears out of the house. I love that music! When I was a kid my mom always called him my boyfriend. I went to a JC concert with her and my grandma and I got to go up on stage and get a kiss from JC. I don't remember this so I must have been super young, I only remember through the story my mom always told ;)
3) I'm ready for spring. Spring is my favorite season.
4) And the thought of spring just NOW reminded me that I need to sign the boys up for baseball. Today is the LAST day. Completely slipped my mind. Writing myself a note right now to attach to the computer!
5) Basketball season ended on Monday but tomorrow we start the tournament. Double elimination. Our first game is a team that's pretty tough. We lost once to them by 1 point in overtime and then won our last game with them. But it's hard. This team plays dirty. So good luck to our Greenfield Thunder!
Have a great weekend :)

It is nice to get happy news like you had! It is almost March almost spring!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got good news- I also spent way too many hours out in the sun...geesh If I only knew then what I know now. Good luck to your team!
ReplyDeleteThank God for good news and baseball season. I love the old rail car.
ReplyDeleteexactly, i spent a lot of time praying and now spending a lot of time thanking GOD!
Deletewill you have to keep checking on those area for the future? they always say you should check your moles & keep watch if they change or look odd??! i know skin cancer & issue are not something to play around with ... they have to be taken very seriously. i am glad to hear you are ok. that is a relief. ( :
ReplyDeletehe said that they may never return or they could but he told me what to watch for! i'm sure given the damage to my skin over the years, i'll have to keep up on it, but now it's not as scary going to see him!
DeleteWhat a scare! I'm a little like you in that I avoid the doctor until I 'm too worried to take it - not good. We really need to change that! I'm so glad that everything went okay, and what a sweetie your husband was to help you through this! I hope Spring in your area is wonderful this year!
ReplyDeletei spent too much time in the sun, too. glad to hear all went well at the dermatologist. here's to spring and baseball! i loved JC ... the man in black. happy friday ... stay warm!
ReplyDeleteFear can be worse that the actual facts. Good for your DH; he knew exactly what was needed. Put another star in his crown!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got good news!
ReplyDeletegood luck with b-ball!
ReplyDeleteshame on you for putting off seeing a doctor, but SO glad all is well!
So glad your husband took over and made the appointment for you. Just think your could have avoided a whole year of worrying. But the important thing is that you are fine and you got a great doctor!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to the doc. Some things can be cleared up if you get them early. Skin cancer is a huge problem here in Florida. I've had one of the more common forms myself.
ReplyDeleteThe colors of decay are quite powerful!
good luck to the players, I'd love to be to cheer them on. Oh my goodness waiting is just not good, I'm the same as you, SO happy to read the end results...so far fingers crossed no skin cancer but my face looks like a wrinkled dried potato about 30 years too soon, but spring skiing suntans to summer to fall body tans were a sign of status in my little cowboy country BC Canada-love JC too once saw Roy Orbison no kiss tho .
ReplyDeleteOh Tanya that is scary I had those burned off a few times I am happy that is all it was. DO NOT hesitate to get things checked out again it is not worth the risk. Now where did that come from sorry I sounded like your Mother:) HUGS Hugs Love the pic. HUG B
ReplyDeletelol, i need someone to sound like my mother so it's ok! :)
DeleteTanya, that's excellent! Makes you realize how trivial many of our other sources of daily stress really are. My wife works for Hospice in SB, and constantly reminds me that life is damn good compared to the patients that she encounters on a daily basis. It really puts things in perspective. Eat, drink, and be merry!
ReplyDeleteamen!
DeleteLoooove your photo and next time, just go see the doctor right away!
ReplyDeleteLove that shot of the rail car... but mostly I'm glad to hear all is well with you now and you can relax.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! Nice variety of colors!
ReplyDeleteForget the photo today, though it is lovely.
ReplyDeleteTANYA, TANYA! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! YOU NEED TO NIP THINGS LIKE THAT IN THE BUD INSTEAD OF WAITING UNTIL IT COULD HAVE BEEN TOO LATE. MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK IN 2015 AND GO SEE THE DOC AGAIN. EVERY YEAR FROM NOW ON!
There. I feel better.
i will, i promise!
DeleteYou're lucky that was a simple thing the doc could take care of. Don't take chances with that sort of thing before.
ReplyDeleteThe rail cars look delightfully distressed.
SO glad it turned out to be something you could take care of right away! The weight of worrisome health problems is like no other. Love that decaying scene, decay is underrated:)
ReplyDeleteGlad you went to the doc and got it taken care of. I had a spot on my face for a while and finally went to the doctor. He said it was a yeast or fungus! How strange!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo.
Take care Tanya! Glad you went to see the doctor and your condition is controllable. All the best!
ReplyDeleteGreat news about your visit to the doctor, always best to get things checked out!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that everything was resolved as far as your skin issues -- why do we do that to ourselves? Have a great weekend Tanya! xo
ReplyDeleteSo glad all was ok I am like that with the dentist have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting me
ReplyDeleteI'm of course "late" reading this post but I'm happy you had a good outcome with the Dermatologist. I felt the same way about my dental issue. I've had that problem since last October.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Cash is a great one to listen to. I love "old style" country music but am more of a Classic Rock kind of gal.
Can't wait for Spring!
Cool looking train shot by the way.
What a beautiful shot. So happy to hear that the Dr. was able to take care of everything. I would be just like you but I hate doctors and usually won't go until it gets bad. I could probably use a little freezing myself.
ReplyDeleteLike the color in this shot. I understand why you were so scared, and glad it was nothing serious.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! The colours are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteSkin cancer is very scary. I'm glad you finally got to the Dr. and all is well….but next time…..yadda yadda yadda.
ReplyDeleteLove the decay of the train too.
I'm so glad you went to the doctor so that now your mind is at rest.
ReplyDeleteI'm listening to Johnny Cash as I type (random tv find) and fits perfectly with colour decay images. Human, warts and all. Your health comes first lady, dr's earlier in future. It's good to be back on the blog circuit.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to get in to a doctor, and that quickly. I am very happy you are okay.
