Wanting to learn about the building and its history I dove into Bing (I'm weaning myself off Google) and found out that it was once Crystal Springs Laundry, although I don't know how old the building is. I showed you the side of it which has a mural painted on it HERE
and for more info on Appalachia Press you can visit their website HERE and if you still want to know more, I found this in-depth interview with the owner (where I found out what the building first was) HERE
We are getting ready for single digit temps tonight...oh my!

It is amazing how much you can get with a search engine!
ReplyDeleteWhen I delivered morning papers, one of the first 24 hour laundramats was the drop off point each day. Winter mornings... oh, soon warm.
ReplyDeleteGreat old building oh yes you keep warm tonight. If the sun was shining it would at the very least appear warmer here this morning. Hug B
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the interesting folks who have walked through these doors? I love it!
ReplyDeleteNeat building!
ReplyDeletei like the front but REALLY like that cool mural. :)
ReplyDeleteA building's history tells a great deal about the neighborhood's interest.
ReplyDeleteInteresting place... sounds like you're in for a chilly night, it's blowing a gale here tonight, with horizontal rain!
ReplyDeleteWind chill tonight is expected to be -4F. 8-)
ReplyDeleteThis really is a cool place. I went Christmas shopping there a few weeks ago. How can you not like a place that sells bacon-oriented products (like bacon band aids)!
ReplyDeleteCool building! But why are you weaning yourself off Google? Something I should know? My fingers type the word so easily, after all the searches I've done. LOL
ReplyDeleteStay warm.
Of course we have the same weather. Now I have to ask, why no more Google??
ReplyDeleteOh I do like the building, and isn't Santa sweet! It's like he's greeting all! I'm not a real fan of Bing, it seems they are much more limited and Google always has more than a person would ever dream of so much of the time!
ReplyDeleteIt does look quite old. We are getting down to 21 tonight, which is pretty cold for us!
ReplyDeleteQuite an enduring building! I like the look of it.
ReplyDeleteHere the high today was -20C. I have no idea what that translates into on the Fahrenheit scale, but that doesn't factor in the windchill on top of it.
I love to see "old" buildings put to good use. There's so much character and charm already built in. Teens for us tonight, the birds are loading up on seed for a cold one.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I call old school and small town! I like it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful building.
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be really cold down here overnight, too. Mid-40s. Yes, you hate me.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting history this place has. {I remember spending much of my childhood at the laundrymat!} Stay warm!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous older building!
