This was Andy Griffith's home in Mt. Airy 1935 - 1966. You can rent this to stay in. It was available on the day we were there. Nick was going to book it but Christian had to be back up here for work on Saturday morning, darn! How neat would that have been?

Have a great weekend :)
I would have loved staying in that home. Never knew that was even possible.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Looks like a real cute place! I loved Andy Griffith and once waited on him when I was very young and worked in the Hilton Hotel in Tucson. He was filming a movie at 'Old Tucson'. My tiny brush with fame. :) oh, and he was very polite. xx
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's a real shame, I hate it when that happens! Have a fab weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool to stay there! It's not often you find a famous home that you can actually rent.
ReplyDeleteneat. what a small place. such a great man. great history. ( :
ReplyDeleteHow cool- I love Andy..he was one of my favorite actors!
ReplyDeleteFamilies sure used to live in much smaller houses. Makes me want to throw away a bunch of stuff and downsize.
ReplyDeleteNO! NO! NO! I will not allow it!!! I have been to Mr. Airy so many times and have seen it all over and over again. That is where a group of us old friends used to gather every summer for a weekend of fun and sharing. genie
ReplyDeleteCool I am I the only one with the whistling song in my head? B
ReplyDeleteIs that what is called a clapboard house - such a modest little place. Interesting post.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! And thanks to Buttons, I'm now whistling that song in my head too! lol Thanks for stopping in at Cranberry Morning. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat would have been so fun
ReplyDeleteit looks sweet and quaint. :)
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that...it would be fun to stay there.
ReplyDeleteCute house, but it could sure use some jazzing up, like some pretty flowers up the walkway. Just saying. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove that... very modest isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat would've been super-cool! Very sweet little place:) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteGosh, Tanya, just looking at the photo I thought you were showing us a house in Los Angeles. Looks so cute and you will have to go back and stay in it another time :).
ReplyDeleteThat is neat! I will have to tell my husband and sons about that. They would probably want to book it :)
ReplyDeleteNow I can't get that song out of my head. Just dropped in from Friday Fences.
ReplyDeleteYou came so close to a fine bit of serendipity.
ReplyDeleteCute house.
ReplyDeleteI loved sharing in your trip! I am envious as I've never made it to Mt. Airy. It's on my "do" list.
ReplyDeleteYou can sleep where Andy slept - how cool is that!
ReplyDeleteThis is too cool! I hope you get to do it next time. I read recently that his wife was selling off one of his old houses. I hope it isn't this one!
