Interrupting my Pittsburgh slide show to participate in Barn Charm. I didn't see any barns in Pittsburgh (shocking I know lol) but I wanted to share this Quilt Barn with you that I have seen in passing. This last time I actually stopped and made Christian hang out the window and snap a photo!
Tomorrow I will take you back to Pittsburgh!
I've yet to see a quilt barn for real. Love them, this is so cool!
ReplyDeleteHe did a good job!
ReplyDeletei really enjoy the quilt. nice!! ( :
ReplyDeleteummm ... what is a quilt barn, Tanya?
ReplyDeletehere's a little info about quilt barns http://barnquiltinfo.com/
DeleteGood heavens, over three thousand, and many skilled artists are in constant work. I did not know they existed. Nothing like that down here ... not tat I know of anyway. But we do not have a great need for massive barns for animals during severe winters. Instead we have shearing sheds and muster yard sheds. But they are purely working buildings, nothing folksy like your barns.
DeleteThank you for this ...
Christian did a great job - and I love the little quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat no barns in Pittsburg strange:) I do love this one. B
ReplyDeleteyay, christian! nice barn!
ReplyDeleteVery charming barn!!! Beautifully brown and has a character!!! A little bit worn and that is what makes it so interesting. This is a great picture of a wonderful special barn!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got this shot...very charming! I like the addition of the quilt block.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very neat barn, Tanya. So glad you managed to snap it this go-round. And, the garden is so handy to the tools which I assume are stored in the barn. Cool.
ReplyDeleteI came back to see what I missed; NOW I see the quilt square. Very col!!

ReplyDeleteA fine Barn Charm shot of this attractive barn. I like the quilt patterns. I've never seen one in Washington State.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a quilt barn before, that is so cool! He did a great job with this shot!:)
ReplyDeleteThat's the first quilt barn I've seen from Buchanan. I can't remember any from my childhood, that's very cool. I'll be back in that neck of the woods next week, and I'll keep my eyes open for more. On a different note, my sister and I are going to walk a piece of property under the parkway next week that my grandfather traded a horse for many years ago. Legend has it that the Beale Treasure is buried somewhere in this area. I thought you would enjoy some local lore, if you're not already familiar with the Beale story--check it out. BTW, did you go to Permanti Bros. in Pittsburgh?
ReplyDeleteThis barn looks like the ones common here in Kentucky. I've never seen the quilt square placed that low, though. Nice barn!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great barn! I really like the quilt square.
