Pattonsburg Lane, Buchanan
On Sunday we went to our place on the creek. On the way home we took Old Mill Road. One of my readers grew up in this area and tells me of the history and what to see. Love it. Anyways, he had told me about an old mill on "Old Mill Road" and we were driving by so we went in search for it. Came upon a nice older couple that were out doing yard work and stopped to talk with them. They live in an old historical home, it belonged to the gentleman's great grandfather. They invited us in and gave us a tour of their beautiful home. They were so nice. I never wanted to leave. I wanted them to adopt us! This barn sits next to their property.
it is never too late or you are never too old to be adopted, right??! love that rusted roof. ( :
ReplyDeletebeautiful scene! :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice of them to show you their old house. What a lovely rural area!
ReplyDeleteI love it when I run across nice old folks who are willing to share their stories and time with me. That was a great visit for you and you got a nice pic of a barn to boot.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful place and how nice of them to give you a tour!
ReplyDeleteThat was extremely neighborly of them! You won't find many people who take strangers inside their home for a tour anymore. How lucky could you be?
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet encounter! bless them. love that curving, hilly drive!
ReplyDeleteI have never been by that one, looks like a neat place.
ReplyDeleteGetting this barn includes a fine chance meeting with these friendly folks. altogether it makes a fine Barn Charm entry.

ReplyDeleteLove the barn and photo! Delightful that you had such a nice v visit. People have fascinating stories if we only take the time to listen.
ReplyDeleteThe winding little lane past the barn and up to the house sits perfectly too, very charming!
ReplyDeleteA real charmer!
ReplyDeleteLove that country lane and what a nice couple you met! :)
ReplyDeletei bet they had lots of stories to tell, too... i love listening to old timer stories!
ReplyDeletebeautiful barn & thanks so much for joining =)
I've always admired and wondered at people who live in family homes that have withstood generations. What a sense of history and belonging that must evoke. We are such a transient society these days that most of live in several different places throughout our lives.
ReplyDeleteNeat experience you had talking w/ these people.
Great barn too!
See you next week at Barn Charm. :)
