On the corner of Wenonah Avenue and Tazewell Street in Pearisburg. Artist "Brick" Marunich
Too bad they decided to hang this ugly ad over the top of it. Tacky, tacky, tacky!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was gorgeous here. Like spring! Nick was out of town and I took the boys to the rodeo Saturday night then we went and hung out downtown yesterday...just so pretty out!

A neat looking mural and I agree about the sign. Wasn't it a great weekend? We went for a drive along Skyline Drive yesterday. It was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAn eye-catching perspective!
ReplyDeleteThe sign certainly doesn't do it any favours!
ReplyDeleteIt was the same weather here, too, of course! It was great! I will never ever get a message from these people or patronize them. They have RUINED this mural!! BOO on them!
ReplyDeleteNice photo, this mural is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteTacky indeed- there's a mural wall here that I'd love to photograph, but part of it is also covered over with a sign.
ReplyDeleteNeat mural! I haven't really spent much time in Pearisburg.
ReplyDeleteCharming and eye catching!
ReplyDeleteThat's really too bad. The Rails-to-Trails program is wonderful. We've ridden miles and miles in southern Minnesota and also here in Florida. Tear down that stupid ad! :)
ReplyDeleteUp here they have 'snow rodeos'. Lots of snow machines racing, racing cars on ice, sailboats with blades on the bottom etc. Never been, but seen them on the telly.
ReplyDeletetotally agree with you on the tacky paper signage!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was the first day in weeks when I felt a little warm in all my winter gear. Beware, though! Presidents Day weekend is coming up. :-)
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to go on a hike. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteYup, too bad they hung that sign there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crying shame, it's a lovely mural!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the sign has to go! The mural is fantastic, though!
ReplyDeletei am having a one track mind tonight... all i saw was massage ..now i need to go back and see what the mural was.... ha. ha!! i guess i need a back rub. ha. ha!! have a great weekend!! ( :
ReplyDeletePretty mural, awful sign!
ReplyDeleteThose ads don't help the somewhat faded mural. It has a nice theme however, as long as it has nothing to do with massages.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice mural, but the sign not so much.
ReplyDeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteThat ad is very tacky! But I love the mural, especially the colors.
ReplyDeleteKind of thoughtless of the message therapy business. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy the murals.
ReplyDeleteThis multi-talented artist (Brick Marunich) also did the 80' long Mural of Narrows VA across from Anna's Restaurant. The Narrows mural committee wrote a contract that protects the Town, the building owner - and the artist! All that work on the Rails'n'Trails Pearisburg mural by Brick: denigrated and destroyed. Won't happen in NARROWS va...NATURALLY!
