Monday Murals - Rails and Trails

On the corner of Wenonah Avenue and Tazewell Street in Pearisburg. Artist "Brick" Marunich

Too bad they decided to hang this ugly ad over the top of it. Tacky, tacky, tacky!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was gorgeous here. Like spring! Nick was out of town and I took the boys to the rodeo Saturday night then we went and hung out downtown yesterday...just so pretty out!

  1. A neat looking mural and I agree about the sign. Wasn't it a great weekend? We went for a drive along Skyline Drive yesterday. It was gorgeous!

  3. The sign certainly doesn't do it any favours!

  4. It was the same weather here, too, of course! It was great! I will never ever get a message from these people or patronize them. They have RUINED this mural!! BOO on them!

  6. Tacky indeed- there's a mural wall here that I'd love to photograph, but part of it is also covered over with a sign.

  7. Neat mural! I haven't really spent much time in Pearisburg.

  8. That's really too bad. The Rails-to-Trails program is wonderful. We've ridden miles and miles in southern Minnesota and also here in Florida. Tear down that stupid ad! :)

  9. Up here they have 'snow rodeos'. Lots of snow machines racing, racing cars on ice, sailboats with blades on the bottom etc. Never been, but seen them on the telly.

  11. Yesterday was the first day in weeks when I felt a little warm in all my winter gear. Beware, though! Presidents Day weekend is coming up. :-)

  16. Those ads don't help the somewhat faded mural. It has a nice theme however, as long as it has nothing to do with massages.

  17. That is a nice mural, but the sign not so much.

  18. That ad is very tacky! But I love the mural, especially the colors.

  19. Kind of thoughtless of the message therapy business. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

This multi-talented artist (Brick Marunich) also did the 80' long Mural of Narrows VA across from Anna's Restaurant. The Narrows mural committee wrote a contract that protects the Town, the building owner - and the artist! All that work on the Rails'n'Trails Pearisburg mural by Brick: denigrated and destroyed. Won't happen in NARROWS va...NATURALLY!
