November Theme Day - Water's Edge
Can you believe it's already November? I can't! This photo is of Tingler's Mill in Paint Bank (Craig County). The mill was built in 1863 and sits on a piece of property that was previously owned by Colonel William Preston, the same William Preston who once owned a plantation at Greenfield. Most of you already know that Greenfield is one of my favorite local spots and if not you can see why it is in my posts HERE!
You can see other entries for the theme by visiting Theme Day at City Daily Photo.
It's also Thursday, which means it's time for Rural Thursday!

The dark of the mill is a lovely contrast to the light and airy colours around. Beautiful - even without the water having to take centerstage!

ReplyDeleteOh yes Col. Preston, I have seen his name back when your county was part of Augusta and he was a very popular fellow, in fact it was a middle name in our family for about 100 years. Long after most of them knew who Preston was. Nice photo. I am ready for spring I think.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful autumn shot! I makes me want to grab my jacket, go for a brisk walk and come home to some nice hot cocoa!
