Linking with Friday Fences
And now playing along with Nancy's Random 5's:
1) I was up with the chickens this morning, 5:00 am! Tough after sleeping in all summer, well sleeping in till 7:30 when Nick gets up for work but anyway...some of you might recall that I work part time at the high school. School starts on Wed but I had to go in for a couple of hours this morning to help get the kitchen in order.
2) After helping out I zipped down the road to Fincastle. I had a court date. I was nervous. Why? It was nothing but a fix-it ticket, which I got fixed, but I was still nervous lol...it was soooo foggy in Fincastle. Up the road from the courthouse I saw this willow (my favorite tree bt-dubs) and it was so pretty sitting there in the fog so I stopped to snap a quick photo to show you how foggy it was, and to have a fence photo. The fog didn't show up :(
3) Court went fast and after a half hour and $91 later, I was finished.
4) I'm heading back to the high school shortly. Christian's girlfriend is transferring there this year. We have 2 high schools in our county, James River and Lord Botetourt. We are the latter. She is going to go and get her schedule this morning and I'm taking Christian over so he can show her around to her classes. Then she'll spend the day with us.
5) The weather is so WEIRD. The last couple of days have been beautiful. Just like fall. The only problem with that is it is still summer. But then it gets worse, tomorrow's high is only 64 and rain. WHAT? Dislike! Looks like things start warming back up on Monday...but not happy about this weekend's forecast, at all! Oh well, it is what it is I suppose!
Have a great weekend!

one always knows the vacation is over when we have to get up for work-at least at 5 the chickens won't care if you have bed head...91 dollars ouch...I love long white farm fences.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been busy, hope you manage to have a nice relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo even if it gives me the feeling that seasons are soon to change. Good on you for doing the Random 5. I love it but have never had a go. Someday :).
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not a time of the day I could drive. I do not see well at dark time. This is a super shot tho.
ReplyDeletethat is what i am wondering about - what will the weather do next? that is the BIG question. will it be very hot & humid & about kill us all or what? either way - i will enjoy it. i hope. ha. ha!! ( :
ReplyDeleteGlad court went fast! I've never had to go for anything thank goodness. Our weather has been really weird, too. I want summer to stick around a little while longer so I keep getting vegetables from my garden!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is so spectacular especially when it is enlarged. Seems like a stiff fine - made me grimace.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this weather crazy? I'm enjoying it, though. This morning it really did feel like fall. But I'm wondering--what's next?
ReplyDeleteSorry about the fine. :-(
we're getting a break in texas, too - low to mid 90s for the next few days - definitely still summer, but still rare for august here!
ReplyDeleteThat is a peaceful photo.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the randoms! So the weird weather is all over! It feels practically cold at night some nights now. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe fog is sure darkening that scene. Your five thoughts are interesting. Our last week has been beautiful, even though cooler than we usually get in August. It felt like the approach of fall, though next week is supposed to be a return to hotter weather.
ReplyDeleteVery "atmospheric" shot. Weeping willows lend themselves to fog and rain.
ReplyDeleteYou work with school nutrition programs? I did too many, many years ago. Trained "lunchroom ladies". Enjoyed it very much.
We had cooler weather today, too....in the 80's instead of triple digits....I was happy about it. Hope you get the warmer weather soon....but hope ours stays this way!
ReplyDeleteNice moody shot.
ReplyDeleteHalloween weather for August. Now you're telling me school is starting. Dislike here too!
ReplyDeleteYou naughty girl -- a ticket? :)
ReplyDeleteThe fence photo is so peaceful. And I just love the name Fincastle. It sounds like you live in a novel!
ReplyDeleteLove those trees behind the fence! Beautiful!
ReplyDelete«Louis» is very happy you visited San Francisco Bay Daily Photo!
ReplyDeleteIt seems that school starts earlier and earlier each year. It's hard to get back into a routine after being off for awhile. I know it must be for the kiddos as well. They must hate that summer time is about over for them.
ReplyDeleteWow what an eventful day. Thanks for the vote by the way. I didn't come close to being tops, but I may just eke out a runner up position and a showing at the State Fair. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the cooler temps, and the breeze that is usually absent during the month of August. Sorry about that ticket..91 bucks, WOW, that's crazy!
ReplyDeleteLove that picture and really like the name "Fincastle". betsy
