One of the many interesting things about my new old house are the doors. This house has so many doors. In fact, I just counted and there are 20, unless I mis-counted which is easy to do. Each room can be totally closed off. I love all these old doors and amazingly enough, these old keys still work!

Those old houses have intriguing features. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love old houses. There used to be so much attention paid to details, especially the woodwork. Every thing nowadays is mass produced, including houses.
ReplyDeleteI love those old keys! New houses don't have the character of an old house, do they?
ReplyDeleteLike you, I love old doors, old keys. this one has a gorgeous porcelain handle, at least I think it's porcelain.
ReplyDeleteles vieilles portent avec leurs vieux secrets derrières. Je suis comme toi, j'aime bien ces vieilles serrures, et avec toutes ces clefs tu as l'impression d'être le roi (ou la reine) du monde :o)
ReplyDeleteold deal with their old secrets behind. I am like you, I like these old locks, and with all these keys you feel the king (or queen) of the world :o)
Bonjour Tanya !
ReplyDeleteOn dirait la porte des oubliettes d'un vieux château...
A plus tard !

Hello Tanya !
Looks like the door of oblivion of an old castle ...
See you later!
I love old house, too. In fact, I live in one...but I've never counted the doors. Intriguing idea!
ReplyDeleteHee hee EG, I've never counted the doors in any of my houses before but this one has a crazy amount of doors, in fact, I'm pretty sure I under counted, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen alone has 4 doors, and you can close that room off. The dining room has 2, which closes the whole room off, same with the living room. I guess to keep the heat and cool in?
The photo works very well. Old houses always have a tale to tell. I love that door handle..
ReplyDeleteThose look like some Italian keys I have!
ReplyDelete5 keys and 20 doors ?
ReplyDeleteYou are going to stay outside
Very very cool! I love old houses.
ReplyDeletenot sure why, but this picture is spooky! Must be the lighting and that old door knob...and those keys...
ReplyDeleteTanya,
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of the keys in the door. It reminds me of an Agatha Christie Mystery: "The Body In The Library" >^,,^< Who Lurks Behind That Door?
If each door has three keys, like this one, then that is a lot of keys! Especially if you get them mixed up!!
ReplyDeleteAren't those keys wonderful? Obviously, living in England, that's still what we use over here :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comments.

I love those old keys! Are the walls sponge-painted or is that wallpaper?
ReplyDeleteLve the sepia tones in this. It's so eveocative of times past when those keys would have first been used.
ReplyDeleteOur home is much smaller than yours but had the same ability (before we remodeled) to close off each room. Our front door was a skeleton key until last year when we put up a new steel door. I was sad to see the old lock go :(
