One day last week we were doing some yard work, raking leaves in piles for Nick to burn when Christian (my oldest boy) noticed this pile burning in a perfect circle, a "Ring of Fire". Christian came in to get the camera and shot this photo :)
Your son is very observant. I am surprised that you are allowed to burn leaves which has been banned in our state for years. I miss the smell and the sound of cracklimg leaves.
Thank you for your comment left on my site today regarding the photo of Michael Landon's house. I enjoyed your photo of the "ring of fire." It does bring back childhood memories of raking leaves and burning them. I hope your children got to jump into the pile of leaves before burning them, as we used to do.
That is amazing! The first thing I thought of was the old Johnny Cash song: "I fell into a burning ring of fire." So now we know there is such a thing, as 'a burning ring of fire' he just didn't make it up after all... Great Picture~~~~
Me again! I just wanted to let you know that I have passed on an award to you! Details at my blog. I really enjoy your blog, seeing your family and the lovely place you call home. Keep up the good work :)
Thats a little scary.
ReplyDeleteMy garden is a tiny one but full of dead leaves...Oh come on! Just a little help!

ReplyDeleteBurning leaves is illegal in Metro Manila. I think it still happens in a lot of places, but my neighborhood is pretty strict about it.
Have you seen the movie 'The Ring'?... Just kidding! :-)
