I'm trying out a new theme this week, "Black & White Wednesday". I never use black and white and I love it when I see black and white in photos, but when I look at my own, I have a major thing for color too....so....this shall give me an excuse to go ahead and use black and white once a week!
This really cool old tree stands at Greenfield. There should be a weekly tree theme because I also have this thing for trees!
Check out more pics in black and white!
I imagine that tree looks completely different with leaves. Perhaps you will return to take a color photo? :)
ReplyDeleteYour goal of a B&W photo once a week is a good one; it inspires me. Perhaps I'll do the same!
ReplyDeleteBlack and white certainly works for you!
ReplyDeletei don't think that tree is living nancy...the trunk is wide open....i was trying to get a good picture of it show the trunk because i think it's beautiful but i would have had to get on the ground to do it and my husband was getting annoyed with me lol....i'll definitely go back though because this is my favorite walking spot and it's just across the street from me....maybe i'll get over there today for a bit because we're supposed to have a nice spring-y day!
ReplyDeleteTanya, I'm with you - I've got a thing for color, and for trees. Also front doors, and dogs (love your Ozzy!) But your B&W is really nice. Look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteTanya I love this old tree in B&W! I have a thing for trees too. They have a life all their own :)

ReplyDeletetoo funny. i've thought about starting a tree meme, just because so many folks are enamored by them, too! :) nice B&W!

ReplyDeleteI think your black and white tree looks very good. It's a fine subject and it makes a good graphic image for black and white. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI like your black and white tree very much. It's a fine subject and black and white choice gives it an appealing graphic look. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteI have loved the weekly link up - got me thinking about and experimenting with looks and photos I would never have imagined. I love it! Your shot is very strong and dramatic - I have had a love affair with branches this winter for some reason ... tree to tree all so different ~ some gentle, and some, like this, are so striking ... almost harsh. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteVery nice B & W edit of a neat looking tree!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fun snow day with your kids. Today is windy and cooler, but the weather has been beautiful. Monday and Tuesday were in the 50's. After today, sounds like we are in for a nice rest of the week.
I love this in black and white! I think it adds something extra to an ordinary photo. You should continue the series. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this lone tree in black and white!

ReplyDeleteI think we should all bug TexWisGirl to host a weekly tree meme, I know I would play! :)
The rare beauty of winter is bare trees, photos capture their beauty so well.
ReplyDeleteWow ! That's a stunning photo. I love black and white. Neat theme. I've never been to Roanoke, so I'll just travel to your blog to enjoy that beautiful part of the country.
