Read Mountain Road, Cloverdale
There used to be a real pretty old house that sat on this piece of property. It was big and kind of in the same state of disrepair as this building. I always loved it though and would admire it when I drove by. I always meant to stop and take a picture. Then one day, about a year ago, I noticed activity going on around the old house and thought "yay, someone is going to fix her up"...then she was torn down...so, a couple of days ago while driving past, I made myself pull over and get a picture of this place and the barn, before they are both gone.
Now it's Willy Nilly time:
1) Did you know that someone is rebuilding the Gone With The Wind house? Yup, it's true...read about it HERE
2) Do you have a hard to shop for person on your Christmas list? I'm sure you can find something for them in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book ...that Vanity Fair Academy Awards Experience would be a wonderful gift, just putting that out there ;)
3) I love street portraits...here are some great ones Meet Harlem's Official Street Photographer
4) Did you hear about the Canadian teen that was bullied? Read about the positive way she handled it Right Here
5) Some of you might know that our Ozzy is a Rottweiler. We've owned the Rottie breed for about 25 years now. I started this blog when we had Crockett and you have probably already seen photos of Ozzy on here, or been on his blog! Anyways, Rottweilers are such a terrific breed, very loyal, very gentle, and very smart! There's a documentary that was recently made about this amazing breed and I can't wait to see it. I wanted to share the trailer with you :)
Our Ozzy sleeps in the boys room. He takes turns from Braden's bed to Dalton's bed and is very protective of his brothers!
Well that's my 5 for the week and now it's your turn! Post 5 random "willy nilly" things and link back to me. Visit other Willy Nilly participants and have fun! Have a great weekend too!!

Great post. I'd heard that about the Tara house - but thought they'd put it off until tomorrow. I had friends who had a rottweiler and it would happily chew my arm all evening - a complete softie!
ReplyDeleteShame about the house, and barn. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely shot of this old building, wouldn't it be sweet if someone did come along and fix her up. The RW's are beautiful and it is their eyes that seduce me :-)
ReplyDeleteI just saw yesterday that there is a new novel about "Mammy" from Gone With the Wind. I'm gonna have to buy it someday. I love ANYthing from that book/movie. Speaking of love....such a wonderful dog. You're privileged, in my opinion, to have Ozzy in your family. And one more thing...I've always wanted to sit around the city and take photos of people but fear always kept me from doing it....someone would surely get mad for me taking their photo and break my camera. lol
ReplyDeleteYes, I do have a couple of hard to shop for's on my Christmas list. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteNever put off taking a picture, you may no get a chance tomorrow. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you captured the barn before it was gone too. Ozzy is a very cool dog. Hug B
ReplyDeleteI think it was well worth your time to stop and grab that snap !
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas Book??? - STILL - i think a creature . . a friend like Ozzy is the best gift of all time . . . Some Mighty Wonderful Thought went into the idea of creature companions . . .
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Theresa....I will get on the Christmas shopping thingy. Loe the barn photo.
ReplyDeleteThe Harlem photographer is amazing!!! Loved seeing the video about rottweilers; so very sweet. (we feel the same way about boxers!) I'll get on that Christmas book asap. NOT. :)
ReplyDeleteXOXO
i love the 2 rottie mixes we've had. sweet dogs. :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, good luck with needless mark-up christmas cataloging. :)
I like this building portrait. At least you won't have this regret. Say Cheese!
ReplyDeleteI love the light it gives off!
ReplyDeleteA poignant shot. Ah, Gone With The Wind... it takes Rhett years of his life and four hours of our time for him to finally walk out on Scarlett.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Willy Nilly Fri 5 Tanya! First of all, isn't this year the 75th anniversary of the movie premiere in Atlanta on Dec. 15th? It would be so cool if he could have his project done by the 80th anniversary! I wonder if Atlanta plans anything this December! My daughter was born on Dec 15th and when she was a teen looked a lot like Vivien Leigh. I ought to do a post about this on her birthday!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love Positive Post-it Day! Those bullies should be severely punished. I'm glad the girl took such a positive approach to what happened to her!
Your precious family pet Ozzy is a wonderful part of your family. I'm glad your boys have him for a brother!
I enjoyed seeing the trailer for "Black Beauty Breed." I've always thought that Rottweilers are a very handsome breed and I've never met one who wasn't a very nice dog. Makes me remember the "Good Dog Carl" books the kids had when they were young. I'm sorry they sometimes get a bad rap.
ReplyDeleteI promise I will join in one of these days! as I enjoy reading Willy Nilly's. Rottie's are a beautiful dog. I don't know whether you ever saw my post on the group of Canadian ones I took a few years back. If I can remember I will send you the link to that post as they were such well behaved, lovely dogs. Also my niece in Germany lives very near the town of Rottweiller where this particular breed came from originally. Have a great weekend Tanya. That old barn had a classic kind of beauty.
ReplyDeleteI love how protective your dog is.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got a shot of the barn. I like it!
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be quite an undertaking to rebuild Tara, but I'm glad someone is doing it. It would be fun to see when it's all finished!
Have a great weekend and thanks for hosting!
Yes, the press really does a number on rottweilers! I think a lot of it has to do with the owner and how the dog is raised. So many gang members around here teach them to fight. What a shame about that house! I guess it's cheaper to tear it down then fix it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic photograph. I love the wisp of blue in the sky.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteThis was fun. How did I miss Willy Nilly? I'll be back to link one of these Fridays.
