Bambi sighting. After our little tromp through Elk Run Trail, looking for a place to picnic, we saw this cutie. We were driving by when Christian says "There's a deer" and Nick and I didn't even notice her. He had to back up, and I was still blind. Look how patiently she is posing :)
Wow, this is a great photo. I can't believe she was still long enough to get such a nice photo. Very lucky!
ReplyDeleteI envy you having wildlife nearby. Here we have a variety of birds, buy only wild imported animals like pigs, rabbits, feral cats, stoats, rats and mice. A nice photo Tanya. - Dave
ReplyDeleteHow lovely she is and actually so well camouflaged by the leaves..
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't seem to be afraid of you at all.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you couldn't see her... she's the same color as the leaves on the ground.... nature does wonderful things when it comes to camouflaging her creatures.
ReplyDeleteNice shot, Tanya!

Deer are such graceful creatures. I love watching them move. Did this one eventually bolt?
ReplyDeletemust have been desperately wanted to be featured on camera critters lol!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteIt seems we both have choosen to post wildlife today :-)
What a great picture. Most of the deer I've encountered have been unwilling to pose!
ReplyDeleteBrattcat, no she stood there the whole time we were stopped to take pictures and look at her. We left first.
ReplyDeleteAngela, this area isn't part of the Appalachian Trail. We've hiked a portion of it right near our house. It wasn't a bad hike as we had the kids with us and they managed great, although I'm sure some areas would be alot tougher!
Thanks for stopping by everyone :)
what a great shot.
ReplyDeletethe only deer i ever see around these parts are usually by the side of the road :(
It's always like a gift to see such a beautiful wild animal!
ReplyDeleteOn an other topic, love your family's smiles!
Great capture!
ReplyDeleteHow cute. Isn't it wonderful to have access to wildlife? You must have felt priviledged!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sweetie. I am so envious.
ReplyDeleteAwww - she says, "Yes, humans, take your pictures because I know I'm beautiful!!!" hehehe
ReplyDeletelovely pics on this blog. I saw a doe and baby today on a hike. they watched me as carefully as I watched them. I was on their turf... I liked the Dr. Pepper sign for skywatch.
ReplyDeleteThey're usually not that patient, was she waiting for a deer friend to catch up?
ReplyDeleteI can see why you didn't spot her, she has great camouflage.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo :)
Delightful capture!Like your title, too. :)
ReplyDeleteDeer visit our backyard, but run as soon as I open my door.
I feel pretty,
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any doe who isn't me tonight.
I feel charming,
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real...(everyone singing along in their head)
