A picture a day from around the Roanoke, VA area.
sur cette photo, la montagne semble mystérieuse, inaccessible. in this photo, the mountains seem mysterious and inaccessible.
It's really 'sharp top mountain'. (In Beskidy Mountains we have mountain called Stożek (cone), but only top is similar to the cone, and not from all the views.)
I'm very happy to be seeing these photos having read so much about the Blue Ridge Parkway. Such wilderness simply doesn't exist here..
Mountains are always beautiful to look at day after day. I'm sure you know a lot about the weather just by the changing view of the mountain.
A really nice sharp top! Did any otters ever reach it? ... and you?
Isn't that just the prettiest mountain peak? and yes... it's been cold. Froze my fingers off taking photos a few days ago.... aaah, the things we do for blog photos, eh?DiThe Blue Ridge Gal
Thats the kind of forest I would like. Very dense. I can see why its call Sharp Top.
What a wonderful mountain. It's the precise shape that children draw when they draw mountains.
It looks like an ancient pyramide! :-)
Unique looking 'sharp top mountain' what a view.
I know how you feel -- it's cold here also. The mountain has a most appropriate name.
you ever head up there and look for wreckage?
You can see why it got its name! Sad about the crash.
I like the way you took this picture looking at the mountain through the trees. Nice perspective!
I like the view through the trees.
Thanks for the encouraging words you've continued posting on my blog during my 2 week break. I will try to start my blog up again. :)
Interesting land formation. I definitely understand why the name Sharp Top.
very cool shot - the peak makes a perfect triangle and it's neat how it can be seen thru the woods. sad about the crash.
PS During the break, we went to Palm Springs Air Museaum and talked to a lot of great old guys who survived WWII as crew on B-25s and B-17s. Fascinating stories and I just love that they are around to tell them. We also met a WAC who wrote several books on the women pilots during the war.
I looked at the photos and read about the crash. It was very interesting. A careless mistake by an air controller. I was amazed at the young ages of the flyers too. Thanks for this Tanya. - Dave
