Up on the 6 level of Center in the Square is this Koi Pond. I showed you a picture of it HERE looking down from the 7th level.
Snow...so like I said yesterday it was snowing like crazy up until about 1 or later. We ended up with a couple of inches. The school never even called a delay. The roads were a mess. 2 kids from the high school crashed on their way in. 1 had slid off the road and I heard the other had flipped his truck. The bus drivers were saying how slick the roads were. I would not want to be the school superintendent right now.

very popular fish for ponds is koi - hope the pond didn't freeze over
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice looking pond for the fish to enjoy, Re the school, I hope no one was seriously injured on the roads, seems crazy to expect people to endanger themselves in such a way.
ReplyDeleteHope not many injured and the fish too survived the snow!
ReplyDeleteohh! I hope no one was injured
ReplyDeleteschool folks have such a different job - i don't envy them at all. ( :
ReplyDeletearound here the folks have had so many snow/ice days i wonder how they will make them all up??
Yep, had to crack the ice on my car door this morning in order to open it and then wait ten or fifteen minutes until the ice on the window would thaw.
ReplyDeleteKoi are so much fun to watch, esp when they are being fed.
ReplyDeleteA nice Koi pond, sorry to hear about snow visiting again.

What a huge pond. Can't believe it is still snowing where you are -- stay warm!
ReplyDeletesorry about the bad roads and accidents! love the koi pond, though!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your winter has taken a turn for the worse!
ReplyDeleteKoi are funny. We have a koi pond in a nearby park. There must be hundreds of koi in there. And the powers-that-be put up one of those machines in which you put a quarter and receive a handful of "fish food." The koi won't eat it. They want bread!
It's nice to see some red around, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteOh - K ! But too bad to hear of snow problems. Hope all is well at your house.
ReplyDeleteI remember when we went to school in the snow, with chains on the bus tires rattling so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. Back in the day.
ReplyDeletethat's funny anita, i've heard that from a lot of other people who grew up here as well...we're just wimps these days haha
DeleteThe superintendant must be getting a lot of complaints.
ReplyDeleteI take it winter tires are the exception as opposed to the rule there.
you know it's funny...we are from southern california but had tire chains because if you wanted to get to the snow in the mountains you had to have chains. then we moved to missouri, nobody used chains so we got rid of them. since southern california we've lived in missouri, georgia and now virginia and nobody uses chains or special tires that i am aware of. snow doesn't last long, it's mostly a day or 2 event so i guess that's our excuse! interesting though...seems southern californians are more prepared lol
DeleteI hate hearing about traffic accidents; prayers that everyone is ok.
ReplyDeleteThe koi pond is special. Stay warm.
Nice pond!
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar situation this season. I think the districts get desperate to have a day of school and forgo safety. Always a bad decision.
ReplyDeleteI think deciding when to close schools is always a tough decision.
ReplyDeleteNice pond.
That's a nice koi pond. I agree with you- I wouldn't want to have to be the one to make the call, and sounds like maybe he should have at least called for a delayed start.
ReplyDeleteThere's alot of Koi in there.
ReplyDeleteLots of color there!
