Friday Fences - Fincastle Pooch

While walking along in Fincastle the other day, this little dog started barking at us and I stopped to take his picture, at the same time his owner came to the door (probably to hush him) and then he turned his cute little head to look at her and I had to pretend like I hadn't just taken a picture of her house haha...

Look at the eyes on the tree. I'm not going to lie, I think they are creepy and don't know why people ruin a perfectly good tree by putting those hideous eyes on them! Poor tree is probably embarrassed!

Taking the boys to see Monster Jam tonight. Christian won 2 tickets at school and then Braden and Dalton were invited to go with a few of their friends. I said sure, thinking this all worked out perfectly until I realized the day Braden and Dalton were invited was for Saturday, right during their basketball game. So I had to tell them no but bought tickets to take them tonight with Christian. They were really upset since they really wanted to go with their friends but sports obligations come first. I think they'll get over it by the time the show starts, I hope!

Linking with Friday Fences! Have a super weekend...last I looked, the weather peeps were saying there was a possibility of 2-5 inches of snow Friday night/Saturday morning...gosh, I hope not!

  1. This post made me smile...the dog looking at the woman at the door while you were pretending not to take a picture, the creepy eyes on the tree and remembering those monster truck shows that my boys loved so much and how sports had to be a priority. Love it! Hope you escape the snow. We have had a very mild winter here in WA state, but very gray and dreary. I can't wait for spring! xx

And I have to admit we have those "eyes" on several of our trees thanks to the husband. I don't really like them either, but what can you do? :)

  11. Ha! I get more creeped-out by the lips that I sometimes see on trees: "The better to eat you with, my dear!" Yeesh!! Enjoy your weekend!!

  12. Sometimes we do have to be a little sneaky when getting that perfect shot. It is so hard to schedule activities with kids these days...there is always so much going on.

  13. Whoa, monster jam, you better take some ear plugs.
Eyes on trees, hmmm. I had an art teacher who tied ropes around trees and took photos, called it his tree bondage series, he was a strange person but I learned a lot about photography.

  14. i like the fence and the pup. :) we have one guy in the 'neighborhood' about 2 miles down the road that keeps the eyes and mouth on a tree.

  15. I've seen a few trees adorned with similar eyes/nose/even mouth and pondered what the heck was the owner thinking - except the one at the beach and I'm pretty sure that one had ties to a few too many adult beverages on the beach, perhaps with a twist of lime.

  16. Send the snow our way. We're not expecting more than a half-inch or so.

  18. Beautiful dog! Terrific pic! I hear you about that tree. I can't imagine that those eyes do much for the tree's self-esteem.

  22. Little dog???? That looks like a 'big' dog to me :). More snow for you. Oh boy. That means we have more coming our way...ha ha! Your photo is just wonderful. Love it!

  23. I agree. Those eyes are dorky. The kids will survive the change of plans. Learning about responsibility to the team is a good lesson for them.

  24. The eyes would scare me more than the barking dog! So do you have snow?

  26. The tree looks like it stepped out of The Lord of the Rings! I hate when people catch me taking a photo. It's always so awkward.
