Barn Charm Tuesday - Springwood Road

Friday afternoon I had to drive out to James River High School in Buchanan to pick up Christian's girlfriend from school. I really don't mind the drive along Springwood since it's so scenic.

In other news...parenting is so hard. Ashlyn is going through some stuff. I hate to see her heart breaking. If you are the praying type, please pray that she finds peace.

  1. Such a beautiful hillside! It looks so pretty in black and white! Praying for your girl. It's tough sometimes to be a Mom! We hate to see them suffer. xx

  2. Lovely topsy turvey barns! I wish your daughter all the very best and hope she comes through her 'stuff' a stronger person.

  3. I love the way you did this photo in B&W. I haven't mastered that yet. I'm sorry your daughter is going through stuff - it can be so hard as a parent to not be able to do anything. So much easier when they were little and you could put a Little Mermaid bandaid on the boo boo, kiss it and make it all better. She is in my prayers.

  5. great B & W shot. i hope thing will calm down with your daughter. a saying that always pops into my head (i know it is still ultra tough during the time you are going through, though) "this too shall pass" ... at the moment you are in it ... it is so terrible but when you look back it was a total breeze compared to what you are going through at that time. weird how life is??
    have a better week. ( :

  6. ah, yes, being a parent is tough. You'd think when they get grown it stops but it doesn't. Just changes. Hope Ashlyn finds some peace soon. Being young has it's challenges.

  7. That is a lovely scene. In B&W, it reminds me of "Little House on the Prairie," (though that may be because I'm reading that series with my daughter).

I do hope your daughter finds peace.

  12. That's a great shot; I attended JRHS and traveled that road daily in the early 80's. Haven't been back in years. Don't know if you've ever driven further past the high school, but there used to be a great rope swing on the James just before the Springwood bridge and a country store on the right just after the bridge. I hope your daughter is smiling again soon; it's brutal when your kids are unhappy.

  15. Quite lovely in b&w...so sorry about your daughter, it's tough to see your child so sad. Both of my granddaughters went thru bad breakups which left them really broken for awhile. They both rallied and are happy again. Have faith!!
