A Dickens of a Christmas Parade

So Friday after the boys' basketball practice we ended up downtown for the Dickens of a Christmas ...after meeting Christian and his girlfriend Alyssa at the Hotel Roanoke we ended up catching the tail end of the parade, literally. Here's Santa. My camera wasn't ready for night shots and the photo turned out with a ghostly blur so I messed with it on Ribbet and you know how much I love the "True Vintage" edit :D Well, I don't know, I like it...not very Christmas-y I guess, more Halloween-y!

  1. Like an image from the movie "Scrooge" starring Albert Finney and Alec Guinness. :-)

  5. So agree with Tex--perhaps it's a ghost of Christmas past. Cool save of the photo!

  6. Oh my GOSH!!! I have never seen anything like this, it is kind of other worldly. Like something that happened long ago, and we can see it materialize only for a moment. The man in the front actually looks kind of like a ghost. With all the Christmas fuss going on, I had forgotten about Ribbit, now I will visit TONIGHT!!

  7. Well, I'd guess the parade was a lot of fun, or at least the tail of it was. And you did a good job of making this an interesting photo!

  11. Sometimes you can recover a photo with processing like this. It looks like it is old.

And, my house in German Village was originally built in 1870, but around 2000 the entire interior was gutted and a rear sunroom was added. More than half of the homes in the neighborhood retain their vintage exteriors but have had extensive interior renovations and sympathetic additions.

  14. Perhaps you could put the slight blur down to Christmas spirit. I'm thinking of the ghost of Christmas passed, of course.
