SUNSET
These were taken after leaving the Marine Corps Museum and heading back to Charlottesville...I can't remember the county...no worries...Nick was driving...I wasn't risking life and limb to get pictures!

Now for Willy Nilly time...how 'bout some sunset quotes and a song!

1) “Dusk is just an illusion because the sun is either above the horizon or below it. And that means that day and night are linked in a way that few things are there cannot be one without the other yet they cannot exist at the same time. How would it feel I remember wondering to be always together yet forever apart?” ...Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook

2) “A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going. And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon, and darkness crept over the land from the east.”
― John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath

3) “the redness had seeped from the day and night was arranging herself around us. Cooling things down, staining and dyeing the evening purple and blue black.”
― Sue Monk Kidd, The Secret Life of Bees

4) "He watched the sun rise beyond the grape arbor. In the thin golden light the young leaves and tendrils of the Scuppernong were like Twink Weatherby's hair. He decided that sunrise and sunset both gave him a pleasantly sad feeling. The sunrise brought a wild, free sadness; the sunset, a lonely yet a comforting one. He indulged his agreeable melancholy until the earth under him turned from gray to lavender and then to the color dried corn husks.”
― Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, The Yearling

  9. Loved the video! Cute combination of Country and Hawaiian! And I LOVED your quotes! The photos were just stunning, and then to have a theme-based group of quotes (plus the music) was ingenious! I swear I love Steinbeck, but when I was reading that quote I was thinking...too many "and's" His editor slipped up! :-) I may steal your idea and do a theme based book quotes Five some time in the future!
