Tuesday’s Treasures - Greyledge

1066 Greyledge Rd . Buchanan

Greyledge was built in 1842…I had seen pictures of it and wanted to see it for myself…we put the address in our GPS and off we went!

When we first turned onto Greyledge Rd we noticed this:

An old rock wall that led the way…we kept following the road…
I remembered seeing the pond in a picture so I knew we were close…just a little further then…
There it was! At this point we tried to turn around but the driveway circled up to the front of the house (first picture) where I took a quick pic and we drove off…it didn’t appear like anyone was home…that would have been embarrassing!

Greyledge doesn’t really have a happy history…you can read all about it HERE

  1. A complicated and sad history. Very peaceful now.

  2. ...an impressive home with a story to match. Quite a place, thanks Tanya for joining the party.

  3. What an impressive historic building. Too bad about the sad history of the place. It is large enough to be a hotel.

  4. What a long and complex history. Despite living so near, I had never heard of this.

  5. The history is quite unsettling, nice architecture though!
