1)
Sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains this week....linking with SkyWatch Friday

2)
I have a very small patch of Blue Bells in my yard...I didn't know these were actually Blue Bells till I saw someone nearby post an upclose picture of them recently...I've seen big fields of them in photos before but never put 2 and 2 together ;) Well next year I will have this little space all cleared of debris, like old leaves that have fallen, so the Blue Bells can grow...I got down flat on the ground for this photo because this was the day the weather guys were saying we were to get a few inches of snow and I thought these sweet little flowers would be gone afterwards...well, no snow but we did have below freezing temps and these little dudes are hardy let me tell you! They still look great today! Linking this with Denise's Friday Flowers

3)
Some Japanese Magnolia that have gotten a little too cold...

4)
This is the view from Parkway Church...you can see all the way to downtown Roanoke...see that tall building with the pointy top? That's the Wells Fargo Building and Nick works in there now...

5)
And this is the HUGE amount of snow we woke up to on Tuesday...little doggie prints on my back deck...(don't worry, our dogs are inside but these are Riley's little tracks he made when he went outside first thing in the morning!)

That's my 5 this week! I hope you will play along! Post 5 randoms, link back and visit others! Have a great weekend friends!

1)
The Blood Moon...this was taken either Monday night or Tuesday night, I can't remember..it was a different night than my other moon picture from this week..It was amazing looking. I just wish I had a clear view of it...it kept hiding behind a tree :(

2)
The sunrise on Thursday...no editing, it was just that pretty!

3)
Sunday's Super Moon while it was still light out...

4)
Bedford's patriotic Main Street

5)
One of the old "company houses" across the road from the warehouse I showed you on Tuesday. Found this interesting write up about the houses:

"The majority of late 19th-century residences in Bedford are vernacular frame
dwellings ranging from simple company houses located near the industrial area to
stylish upper middle class houses situated along Peaks Street, Longwood Avenue, and
Bedford Avenue. Houses built for employees of the various manufactories were located
along the blocks of North and Grove streets nearest the factories. The lowest income workers apparently lived in a row of simple frame houses in the 800 block of Grove
Street, whereas more skilled workers or foremen lived in larger and more stylish
house-s built in a row along the 700 block of North Street. A certain hierarchical
social order is apparent in the location and size of these houses. Whereas- the
factories and the railroad lay at the bottom of a slightly rising hill, company worker
houses were, located along the first blocks of North and Grove streets as they extend
up the hill. More stylish houses, however, were situated further north along these^
streets until reaching the summit of the hill where the owners of many of the factories
built their fashionable houses." copied from HERE

Okey dokey, that's my 5 for the week! Now it's your turn, post 5 randoms, link back and visit others! Thanks and have a great weekend!!

1)
Downtown

Ooops, sorry Willy Nilly is late...forgot which day it was! The boys started 2-a-days for foootball practice yesterday. Have to have them at school by 6:45 in the morning and they practice till 2 with a break in the middle. School doesn't start till the 9th but it looks like summer is over for them :(

2)
Roanoke City Market at the end of the day...

3)
Looks like someone wore these shoes till they fell right off their feet. Could at least put them in the trash. Can't stand litter bugs!

4)
Hmmmm, now where have I seen this before? ;)

5)
Another from the artwalk because I love that old clock and the street lights downtown.

That's my 5 for the week! I hope you will play along, even if I am running late! Post 5 randoms, link back and visit others! Have a great weekend!!

2)
Lots more gators, same place as #1 just up a little further...lots of white birds in the trees too...Herons? Egrets? I don't know!

3)
The beach from our resort . Las Brisas . Ixtapa

4)
This is a police vehicle. I know you can't tell from the picture but the officer standing in the back is carrying an assault rifle. In front of this police vehicle is a military vehicle with a bunch of military personnel also carrying assault rifles. This was a familiar scene. We'd see them just driving around or stopped on the side of the road, standing next to their vehicle holding assault rifles. Now mind you, this is Ixtapa, a major tourist area. One day while at the beach, the one I showed you with the hammocks?...anyways, on that day a police vehicle pulled up to the next restaurant down and about 4 or 5 officers jumped out carrying their rifles...it was a bit intimidating...they stood talking to some people for a while then got back in and drove away...I honestly didn't know if there was going to be a shoot out or what! Can you imagine if our police were that armed? It is very unsettling...I wanted to get a better picture of the police/military but I also didn't want to get shot so this is the only one I got...

5)
What in God's creation is this thing? I found this on a ledge at our hotel. Is it from the sea? Did a bird drop it? Is it a ginormous bug? So happy this was the only one I saw and it was dead! I think I'd freak out if I saw this thing moving!

There's my 5 this week! I hope you will play along! Post 5 randoms and link back up! Visit others! Have a great weekend :)

Random 5 & SkyWatch Friday - Beach Houses

More beach houses at the Salt Ponds in Hampton. I'll take the yellow one :)

Randoms:

1) 9 days of school left, counting today. These last couple of weeks of school just drag.

2) Last Saturday, while we were in Hampton, Ashlyn called. She hit a deer with my little mini van. She was ok but called me in hysterics because she felt awful for the damage on the van. Her car was still in the shop getting its a/c fixed so I let her use mine while we were gone. She had me terrified till I could figure out that she was fine. My van ended up with $2200 in damage. I get to pick it back up today. Betsy should be happy with her new bumper/grill and headlight!

3) The boys have a baseball tournament tonight. Yay. Haven't had any baseball in a week. This has been a weird season as far as getting games in.

4) When we were headed home from Hampton last Sunday, Ashlyn was on her way to Myrtle Beach with her friend. Haven't seen her in a week. Much too long. I miss her! She'll be home on Sunday.

5) The last couple of days my hands have been itching. I don't know what I got into but they are driving me crazy.

Have a super weekend!
