Recently Nick and I were out driving around and stopped at a little convenience store for some ice cream.  While we sat in the truck eating we were reading this sign which was in front of us…”if we can’t fix it, we’ll make your radio louder so you won’t hear it” haha we thought that was funny!

Earlier this week I went to work and when I showed up this little Weeping Willow tree was waiting for me! A customer had dropped it off for me…it is my favorite tree and I guess I had mentioned it to them! So thankful for kind and thoughtful people who make your day a little brighter!

Tuesday’s Treasures - Greyledge

1066 Greyledge Rd . Buchanan 

Greyledge was built in 1842…I had seen pictures of it and wanted to see it for myself…we put the address in our GPS and off we went!

When we first turned onto Greyledge Rd we noticed this:

An old rock wall that led the way…we kept following the road…

I remembered seeing the pond in a picture so I knew we were close…just a little further then…

There it was! At this point we tried to turn around but the driveway circled up to the front of the house (first picture) where I took a quick pic and we drove off…it didn’t appear like anyone was home…that would have been embarrassing!

Monday Murals - Unknown in Roanoke

This is right by the Firestone building and I cannot find one single thing about this mural…ugh!!! You know how much that drives me crazy…how can this great mural go basically unnoticed on the internet??!!  To me it looks like a farmer standing in the rain…wonder what he’s thinking? “When will this rain end” or “Thank goodness we’re finally getting some rain”…haha this is why I need info on it! Anyways, I’m linking up with Monday Murals

Great Dismal Swamp

 

Great Dismal Swamp . Suffolk . VA

In April Nick and I took a little jaunt to The Great Dismal Swamp…our first stop was to the Wildlife Refuge/Lake Drummond where you can take an auto tour BUT as we rolled up to enter we noticed a fire and a firefighter blocking the entrance…turned out they had a controlled burn happening which they do once or twice a year…lucky us haha…oh well…there was other stuff to see…

I didn’t see any bears wearing masks but I kept my eyes peeled!

I kept thinking of the awful conditions the slaves had to work in 😞

Well even though we didn’t get to see the main part of our trip we still had a great time and I wouldn’t mind going again!

Today I’m thankful for great conversations with my boys when we can catch up on everything! We’ve been having crazy schedules lately so I haven’t really seen much of them but last night I was able to have fun talks with both of them which I really enjoyed!
