Blue Ridge Library

This is the Blue Ridge Library. We spend quite a bit of time here. Saturday Dalton and I stopped in to drop off some items we had checked out. The library is small, but has everything we need and I prefer a small, personal library to a bigger one. Whatever they don't have, they can get it delivered from any of the other libraries. Every so often they will play a children's movie for the kids. I've taken Braden and Dalton a couple of times. They set up a movie in the conference room, line up seats and serve chips, candy and bottled water. I was going to take them last Thursday to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua but ended up having to get tires put on Nick's truck instead. Ashlyn goes into the library to use their computers for school work. They have better programs than my old computer so she likes to use theirs. It was funny, one night when she was there doing homework, she called me to tell me that their internet was down and needed to see how to spell a word. Being so used to the high tech world now, I told her I would log on here and see what the spelling was when Christian said "she's in a library where they have dictionaries" lol...How we've come to depend on the computer!

  2. Tanya, I love Ashlyn's library story. My husband and I have races to see who can find an answer faster...using the internet (me) or researching the old-fashioned way, in books(him).

  3. Good picture. It is amazing how quickly we come to depend on computers. :-)

I like a smaller library also. Ours is very good about sending materials that are requested.

  5. Ah yes... good old hard bound dictionaries. Gotta love this technology! My daughter takes her children to the library on a regular basis... they're just so great for kids.

  6. I like a small library too. Things just seem easier to find. We have several to choose from around here of course since I am near more than one city but I rarely check out a book. I tend to us the Internet for everything including spell check. I am one of those who needs a choice on how to spell ha ha. I always though How can I use a dictionary to look something up. If I knew how to spell it to look it up I wouldn't need the dictionary duh ha ha

  14. Oh, that's too funny about how she forgot about a good old fashioned dictionary! And scary too, for us writers!

Of course I love libraries. The one we had when I lived in Henryetta, Oklahoma was wild--the only books it had were ones about Jesus, sewing and ranching. Here, I'm finding a lot of Civil War stuff.
