Random 5 Friday - Photobomb

Kroger parking lot, Daleville.

Last weekend the boys and I were waiting in the car at Kroger while Nick ran in to the bank. The boys noticed these boys shoes and were saying that they liked them. Since I had my camera I zoomed in to get a better look when low and behold, PHOTOBOMB ;)

Now some randoms:

1) Have you seen the new Chevy commercial with the dog? You're going to need a tissue for sure:

2) Today is a snow day. We woke up with a very light dusting, but the roads are icy.

3) I made the most delicious bbq chicken sandwiches with cilantro slaw the other night. I boiled my chicken breasts, then chopped and shredded and mixed with Duke's BBQ sauce (my favorite bottled sauce) but the amazing part was the slaw from Pioneer Woman. You can get the recipe HERE

4) The boys played their last basketball game on Monday evening. We lost so our season is now over. We have our banquet on Monday at Cici's. Now we are ready to start baseball!

5) Daylight savings starts this Sunday. I love longer days! And the countdown to spring? 13 Days, 3 Hours, 11 Minutes, 33 Seconds, as I type!

Visit Nancy at a Rural Journal for more randoms!

Have a great weekend :)

  8. Photobombs happen to me a lot as much of the time I am not looking through the view finder but taking street photos. Some are pretty funny. We got several inches of snow but it has warmed and it is melting some.

  11. Chicken and slaw sound wonderful right now- do you deliver? HA HA I personally wish they would do away with DST..I don't see any use for it, except to mess up people's sleep patterns.

  13. Tanya,

What a winter. We had a gorgeous day yesterday and lots of melting. When I went to check heifers and feed the twins at 8 last night it was raining. This morning it was in the upper teens. We have so much ice. The cattle hate it. Sounds like we are in for melting temps tomorrow.

The Pioneer Woman has lots of good recipes. I enjoy her cookbooks and food. Her Cowboy Husband must have a similar pallet as my Husband; that works out good for trying new recipes.

It's crazy that we are springing clock ahead already!

  16. Yep you got photo-bombed for sure. What I thought was funny were the boys in shorts with snow on the ground.
I love Cilantro so I'll have to check out the coleslaw recipe.
It's been nice here today, we actually saw the sun today!
Looking forward to the 1st day of spring and my birthday.

  17. Crap! Now I can't see to type. Thanks a ton for making me cry!!!!!

Now, for my comment. People who think a dog is just a dog also believe a house is just a house. You apparently believe a house is a home. :) You are my kind of person.

  23. Judging from all that snow in the background, I wouldn't be wearing shorts in that cold! :-)

  24. Longer days means I'll run later in the morning which kinda screws up my mojo, but I'll adapt! :)

  25. Love, love Pioneer Woman's Cilantro Slaw recipe! It inspired me to start adding cilantro to other things, like potato salad! You are funny with your countdown to spring! :)

  27. I was crying my eyes out watching that commercial! Do you remember the one from years ago where they were going up the stairs and the dog was getting older and older? I think it was an Irish Setter. That one made me cry too. Now for a funny one, did you see that Dobie-wa-wa commercial that played during the Superbowl? I put the address to it on my last story but couldn't figure out how to do a link. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, it's worth watching for a chuckle.

Love the green on the train and the red heads.

  28. I probably shouldn't say this, but it was in the 70's here today...ice last week! It's been an unusual winter! I'll be checking the slaw recipe out, it sounds delicious!
