  3. The old gazebo is a gem among the overgrown surroundings and what an eerie feel it has now that I read the story!

  5. Fun to think what this place looked like in its prime. Nevertheless it looks interesting now. You got some great shots.

  6. Fantastic gazebo! I love the peeling paint. And great looking old bridge.

  7. Wow, that's been around a while! I guess it's safe to assume it no longer gets maintained.

  8. I was trying to figure out if it was a gazebo or fancy chicken coop. I'll go back and read the link to more about it. Fascinating place.

  9. Photographically, this is a treat, but it sure is in desperate shape.

  11. That was a place to go on a hot summer weekend when people got out of Roanoke, just a short trip up the tracks. There was another road over there that went over a bridge just down the tracks from where you went under. Some of the old photos by N&W photographers of trains pulling the Blueridge grade were taken from the bridge that is now gone. Everything is grown up over there and it is nearly impossible to take good photos of anything, like a jungle.

  12. This gazebo has many tales to tell. It appears to be very well constructed but does need a bit of TLC. I like that 2nd shot very much, also...something about railroad trestles that intrigue me. Thanks for visiting Ocala and especially for your comment on L & L Photography!

  13. What an excellent link that is Tanya, what a tale! I have a clear picture of how the resort was way back then, it would have been fabulous. Such a shame it fell into the hands of a ruthless man!
