The Anne Spencer House - I

Anne Spencer House. 1313 Pierce Street. Lynchburg. 24501. 434-845-1313

Yes we went to the reenactment on Saturday and I have loads of photos and some video to share but I wanted to get this post out ASAP because it is time sensitive! We ended up in Lynchburg on Sunday and were told to go look at the gardens at the Anne Spencer House. Incredible!! Now on Tuesday you can actually tour the house and garden as part of the Historic Garden Week so I wanted to put that out there for the locals.

I have more to show you from Miss Anne's garden plus our great visit with her gracious granddaughter coming up so stay tuned! :)

  1. That's great that you had the chance to visit Anne Spencer's home! I went when I was in college and studying her poetry. It has been years since I've been back, but I've read about the many changes that have been made. I'll look forward to more on this!

  4. Looks like a nice place to find a bench and to sit for a while as one soaks up the sun and the surroundings.

  11. That is quite a color. Up north, most trellises and similar structures would be white or natural unless the structure is from the Victorian era.

  13. I thought that you all would go to the reenactment , but I still watched for you at the marathon. Posted pictures of Bud and the local color. He finished...WOOHOO. We are going back after the Amhearst half marathon on Saturday for the Strawberry Festival. Will keep looking for you all. Have been offline for a month, but am back for now. We have had illness in the family.

  15. What a beautiful pergola behind that house. Perfect place to spend a spring afternoon. I'm not so sure about the color, but the setting in fine. You have an inviting photograph.
