Blue Ridge Service Center

Blue Ridge Blvd . Blue Ridge

This is near our new house. I've always loved the Coke sign and have always meant to stop and snap a photo of it. Well now that we live nearby, here it is...it is tilted, but I was parked on a hill...this location isn't the easiest access. My husband has stopped by a few times to pick up this or that as it is the most convenient place to our house. The owner does not speak English, not that that is a big deal but he will not even try to communicate with you. He's rude enough that my husband now drives the extra few miles down the road to Food Lion for anything we need to pick up. He's given the guy a few chances but he never even tries to be polite or appreciative of the money you spend there. He wears earbuds and will not answer questions. On my husband's last visit my husband tried to hand him his money, the man would not hold his hand out to accept it so my husband just let it all fall on the counter and walked out. That is the last time he has been there. I haven't even given it a try. Our older son Christian won't go just because it's not that easy to access. It's just too bad because it is a cute little place and I do love that old Coke sign! Just be nice when we try to spend money in your store, is that too much to ask?!

Do you continue to shop at places where you've had rude service?

  2. I think the shopkeeper perhaps needs to find a new career, a lighthouse keeper maybe?!

  3. The above suggestion is a good one. Why do people who can't be bothered to communicate think they're going to succeed dealing with the public? We've all experienced it, I'm sure, in both the private and public sectors! To answer your question - no, if there's an alternative I will go elsewhere if people receiving my custom are rude and/or grumpy. Moreover, I have a problem with people who make no effort whatsoever to learn the language of the place they want to make their home in - apart from anything else, it encourages separation and division. If I lived in your country, Tanya, I'd make every effort to learn the language... :-)

  5. I haven't been there but think I know where it might be, if I am over that way I am usually going somewhere without any stops. There is a place near us with a less than friendly guy so I haven't been back in there. I wonder if they are scared that someone is going to rob them.

  6. Not exactly a "full service" kind of place, then, huh? :-)

  7. Your first comment seems to be a spammer.

I wouldn't shop there either. If the guy is that lousy with customer service, he has no business being in business.

  8. There is a bakery near me that gets really busy. I like their bread (it's all homemade), but the lady there is so rude. I have given them so many chances, I really like to support local businesses. But the service makes it hard!
