Signs 2 - The Great Valley

Great Valley Overlook . Blue Ridge Parkway . MP 99.6

As you travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway there are these overlooks every couple of miles or so...the views are always worth pulling over!

The Great Valley

"The Great Valley extends through the Appalachians from New York to Alabama. Here the valley is confined by the Alleghenies on the west and by the Blue Ridge on the east. The great warrior path of the Iroquois and Cherokee was used by the Scotch-Irish and German pioneers from Pennsylvania when they migrated down the valley to settle this area in 1730-50."

HERE'S a neat site I found to get a virtual view!

Today I am thankful for more and more spring like days! We've been enjoying warm weather and everyday I notice more and more things blooming! The forsythia and daffodils are in bloom and I even saw some Cherry blossoms today! We dip back into winter for the next couple of days but that's ok...spring is right around the corner!

  4. Oh, that view! I'm also an east coast dweller, and we just returned from a visit to the Colorado Rockies. The mountains there are SO DIFFERENT from ours!

  11. I have decided that if it won’t snow then spring might as well come early and stay. I am ready for a weather change. Thanks for linking up.

  12. Sweet memories for me as my husband and I drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway many years ago when we were first married. It was such a beautiful drive! We took a side teip to Luray Caverns.

  16. Do this hack to drop 2lb of fat in 8 hours

At least 160 thousand women and men are hacking their diet with a simple and secret "water hack" to burn 2 lbs every night as they sleep.

It's painless and works all the time.

This is how you can do it yourself:

    1) Hold a clear glass and fill it up with water half the way

    2) And now do this strange HACK

and you'll become 2 lbs lighter as soon as tomorrow!
