Through My Lens - Lunch @ Jess'

At the start of summer, we visited Ashlyn at JMU then walked around downtown Harrisonburg. Found this little gem for lunch:
We like funky little spots which have withstood the test of time...
I loved this little old school glass they brought out for my drink!
A round of chili dogs, fries and onion rings...so good...and I Love Lucy playing on the tv!

Jess' Lunch is located @ 22 South Main Street . Harrisonburg ...No website but you can check out their Yelp page HERE

Linking up with Mersad's Through My Lens meme for the first time!

  1. An old-drugstore type counter. Shakes and sodas, too?

  5. Wow, I would go in there back in the late 70s when they served cokes in the old glass bottles, I even took a photo of hotdogs and a coke for an art photo, I think I titled it "two all the way". It was just the one part of the building where the counter is back in the old days. Before that the building had burnt killing one firefighter and I believe they relocated next door where it is now or something like that.

  6. Can't tell you how much I would enjoy that place. It would really be a blast from the past, in my case. Brilliant!

  7. I have fond memories of lunch at a lunch counter long ago and my favorite thing to order was a ham sandwich with chips and a glass of Coke. How neat to find this place!

  9. I loved Orange Crush, but for some reason seldom get in anymore. What a delightful stop.

  11. They have a second place out on Route 33 toward Kroger. Mostly burgers and hot dogs.

  14. Isn't it fun to find neat little places like that. Orange Crush soda always made me sick so I never drink it.
